Family members and other supporters of Roger Hu, an organizer in the Palo Alto Obama office, celebrate as he wins the nomination for the lone male delegate spot for Congressional District 14 with a total of 342 votes. Gunn High School student Molly Kawahata and Stanford Dean of Freshmen Julie Lythcott-Haims won on the female side with 257 and 240 votes, respectively, and Stanford law student Matt Haney won the alternate spot with 177. The delegates will attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver from August 25 to the 28th.
